SERVICE POLICY

WARRANTY

Different Strokes of Alaska provides a parts and labor warranty consistent with those implied by the parts manufacturer or distributor.  It is the customer’s responsibility to pay any remaining balance not covered.  Proper maintenance procedures and records must be followed and available to maintain a valid warranty.

FACTORY WARRANTY

Different Strokes of Alaska is unable to conduct warranty repairs under Ford’s Factory Specific Warranty. Any warranty or recall repairs performed by Different Strokes of Alaska must be paid for by the customer. It is our customer’s responsibility to file any documentation to attempt reimbursement by the manufacturer.  DSOA will do its best to alert customers to possible warranty options but will not be responsible if missed.

INSURANCE & THIRD PARTY WARRANTIES

Different Strokes of Alaska partners with many insurance providers and third‑party warranty companies. Our goal is to support customers throughout the process and ensure that every authorized repair is completed properly and to the highest standard. While we strive to have all costs covered by the insurance or warranty company, any non‑covered items must be approved and paid for by the customer.

STORAGE

Different Strokes of Alaska works hard to accommodate all customers.  Unfortunately, lot space is limited, more so in the winter.  A storage policy of $25 per day for summer months and $50 per day for winter months will be applied to vehicles not scheduled or declined for work.  Storage will begin 48 business hours post notification of completion of service (unless prearranged).

FUEL

Any vehicle dropped off for repairs with less than ¼ tank of fuel, requiring road testing or runability testing, may have fuel added to the invoice.  The cost of fuel will average market value + $3.00 per gallon and added in five or ten gallon increments.

KEYS

Different Strokes of Alaska takes pride in caring for your personal items. In the case of a lost key, Different Strokes of Alaska will only take responsibility for the vehicle key. Different Strokes of Alaska requests customers leave only vehicle key(s) (Ignition and Door) when bringing the vehicle in for service.  If the door does not have a key, this must be mentioned on drop off or a fee may be charged to access a locked vehicle.

ESTIMATES

Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date produced.  After 30 days, parts and labor pricing may be subject to change, no exceptions.

REFUSAL OF SERVICE

Different Strokes of Alaska reserves the right to refuse service to customers for any reason. We understand that people have bad days, or it's hard to hear your vehicle needs additional work, but disrespectful or abusive behavior and/or language will not be tolerated.

PLOWS

Plows must be removed prior to dropping off.  Vehicles with plows will be charged to remove and install plows for service.  Oil changes are exempt.

IN-BED CAMPERS

Please remove in-bed campers prior to service. If in-bed campers prohibit repairs from being completed, customers will be charged for removal and storage of campers.

CUSTOMER SUPPLIED PARTS

If a customer requests to use their own parts, time and a half will be charged and no warranty will be given for any parts related failures or collateral damage.  To be determined by DSOA if failure occurs.
